New Directions in the Study of Congress and the Presidency

The literature on Congress tends to be relatively insular on the issue of agenda-setting, with much of the "action" coming from Congress-specific institutions like committees and congressional parties. We often don't include consideration of the role of the President in a meaningful way. This academic conference sought to redress this imbalance and examined the critical—and sometimes contentious—relationship between Congress and the President.

This conference took place May 25-26, 2011.
