Rajiv Chandrasekaran, author of Imperial Life in the Emerald City (Knopf, 2006), has been an assistant managing editor of The Washington Post and is currently charged with leading the Post's coverage on the debate over the war in Iraq. From April 2003 to October 2004 he was the Post's Baghdad bureau chief, responsible for covering the American occupation of Iraq and supervising a team of Post correspondents. He holds a degree in political science from Stanford University, where he was editor-in-chief of The Stanford Daily.
