Michael Dyson is a New York Times op-ed contributor, MSNBC political analyst, and a professor in the Sociology Department at Georgetown University He has been named by Ebony as one of the most influential black Americans and is the author of 17 books. Elizabeth Hinton is an assistant professor in the Department of History and the Department of African and African American Studies at Harvard University. Her research focus on the persistence of poverty and racial inequality in the 20th century united States. In her current book, From the War on Poverty to the War on Crime: the Making of Mass Incarceration in America she examines  the implementation of federal law enforcement programs beginning in the mid-1960s that laid the groundwork for the mass incarceration of American citizens. A book signing will follow their appearance.
