Event Details

Hubert Humphrey was one of the great liberal leaders in postwar America, yet because he never made it to the Oval Office, he has been largely overlooked by biographers. On Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., UVA professor and Miller Center scholar Melvyn Leffler hosts Arnold Offner, history professor emeritus at Lafayette College. He will discuss Humphrey and American liberalism. He is the author of Hubert Humphrey: The Conscience of the Country. A book signing will follow the event.
