Bill Clinton: 1993-2001
|
Throughout presidential history, the role of the vice president has grown in stature and importance. During his presidency, Bill Clinton had a substantial partnership with his vice president, Al Gore. In 1992, the Miller Center hosted the National Commission on Choosing and Using Vice Presidents, which examined the evolving role of the vice president and its increasing importance. Former Secretary of State Edmund S. Muskie and former Maryland Senator Charles McC. Mathias co-chaired the Commission. |
