Papers — Millard Fillmore (1800 - 1874)
A sizeable collection of Fillmore papers is available. In 1907 the Buffalo Historical Society published 2 vols. of Fillmore's papers edited by Frank Severance. Since that time the collection has been greatly expanded. In 1975 the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society produced a comprehensive collection of microfilm that remains the best source for Fillmore papers.

For the official papers of Fillmore during his Presidency, see James Richardson's Compilation of the Messages and Papers of the Presidents. This retrospective compilation was published in several different editions. The final edition was published in 1918 in 20 volumes. This edition covers the Presidencies of Washington through Taft and includes a significant portion of Wilson's Presidency. The contents of the Compilation are typically limited to official proclamations, addresses, and messages.
