Early Career of John Tyler

John Tyler was born into one of Virginia's elite families. His parents made sure that he received the best education available. Tyler attended the College of William and Mary and gained admission into the Virginia bar in 1809. He then served in the Virginia House of Delegates, the U.S. House of Representatives, the Virginia governorship, and the U.S. Senate.
