Funeral of President Roosevelt

By 1944, President Franklin D. Roosevelt suffered from a variety of heart ailments, high blood pressure, and bronchitis. In April 1945, Roosevelt traveled to his favorite retreat in Warm Springs, Georgia, and he passed away a few days later of a cerebral hemorrhage. Thousands of people gathered in Hyde Park, New York, where he was buried on April 15, to pay their final respects to a truly beloved President.
