McKinley Inauguration

Source: The Library of Congress

William McKinley was inaugurated as the 25th President of the United States on March 4, 1897. Scholars credit McKinley as an influential figure in the creation of the modern presidency because of his extensive use of mass media to disseminate his agenda and propaganda. McKinley was elected to two terms, but was assassinated in the first year of his second term.
