Potsdam Conference

On July 25, 1945, President Harry Truman, center, participated in a ceremonial triple handshake with Prime Minister Winston Churchill of Great Britain, left, and Soviet leader Joseph Stalin, right, at the Cecilienhof Palace.  The three were gathered at the Potsdam Conference in order to discuss plans for post-war Europe as well as strategy for the ongoing war in Japan.
