President Clinton Marching Across the Pettus Bridge

March 05, 2000
Source: William J. Clinton Presidential Library

President Bill Clinton, center, leads a march across the Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama, with Coretta Scott King, left of Clinton, wife of the late Martin Luther King, Jr. and other civil rights activists. Their march was in remembrance of the Selma March on March 7, 1965, when white state troopers used violence against those protesting the denial of voting rights for African Americans.
