President Ford Assassination Attempt

While in San Francisco, California on September 22, 1975, President Gerald Ford survived an assassination attempt by one-time FBI informer, Sara Jane Moore.  Two weeks earlier, President Ford endured a different assassination attempt in Sacramento, California when Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme’s gun misfired at point-blank range.  Both women were convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment.
