July 11, 1963
Source: National Archives

John Kennedy was born into a wealthy, powerful Massachusetts family. He attended Harvard University, served in World War II, and was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate. In 1960, Kennedy successfully ran for President against Richard M. Nixon, making him the youngest U.S. President in history. Kennedy’s youthful and glamorous tenure ended with his tragic assassination in November 1963.
