In Russia for the Moscow Summit, President Ronald Reagan, left, and General Secretary Mikhail Gorbachev of the Soviet Union visit Red Square on May 31, 1988. It was here that the two countries ratified the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty. This treaty and the continued meetings with the Soviet Union were often seen as the beginning of the end of the Cold War.
