November 30, 1955
Source: National Archives

President Dwight Eisenhower, at podium, spoke at a campaign rally in 1956 in support of his candidacy for reelection. Despite having endured a heart attack in his first term, he ran for reelection with his previous running mate, Richard Nixon, pictured in the poster on the right. Eisenhower defeated the same opponent, Adlai Stevenson, to win another decisive Republican victory.
