Secretary Taft On Horseback

In 1905, Secretary of War William Howard Taft posed while riding horseback. Taft served as secretary of war for President Theodore Roosevelt from 1904 to 1908 and was Roosevelt's chief foreign policy adviser and confidant. During his tenure, Taft oversaw construction of the Panama Canal and served as provisional governor of Cuba, among many other responsibilities.
