As President and Chief Executive Officer of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation since 1982, WILLIAM C. BAKER leads the largest not-for-profit conservation organization dedicated solely to preserving, protecting, and restoring the Chesapeake Bay. Under Baker's leadership, the Foundation received the nation's highest environmental honor – the 1992 Presidential Medal for Environmental Excellence. Baker received Washingtonian Magazine's "Washingtonian of the Year" Award in 1988, and was awarded the Speaker's Medallion, presented annually by the Maryland House of Delegates, to "a citizen who has made outstanding contributions to the citizens of the state" in 2009.  This Forum was co-sponsored with the League of Women Voters.
