AMBASSADOR ROSS L. WILSON was the U.S. Ambassador to Turkey (2005–08), having previously served in numerous State Department roles, including U.S. Consul General at the American embassies in Moscow, Prague, Melbourne, and Ankara; U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Azerbaijan; and Deputy Executive Secretary for Secretaries of State Baker, Eagleburger and Christopher. From 1997 to 2000, Wilson served as Special Advisor to the Secretary of State for the New Independent States of the former Soviet Union.
