RICHARD BEN-VENISTE discussed his current book, The Emperor’s New Clothes: Exposing the Truth from Watergate to 9/11 (Thomas Dunne Books, 2009). Ben-Veniste was hired at age 30 by Special Prosecutor Archibald Cox to investigate the Watergate break-in that led to President Nixon’s resignation in 1974. As the chief of the Watergate Task Force, he questioned Watergate witnesses in the Senate. Ben-Veniste gained further national prominence as a 9/11 Commission member, handling Condoleezza Rice's questioning.
