Associate Professor of Biomedical Ethics and Professor of Law, details why simple answers were not right for Schiavo or for end-of-life decisions in general. Shepherd directs the Center for Biomedical Ethics and Humanities’ programs in medicine and law. After receiving her law degree from Yale, where she served as editor of the Yale Law Journal, she practiced corporate law for six years, and taught at Florida State University.
