In 2009, New York Times National Security Correspondent MARK MAZZETTI shared a Pulitzer Prize for his reporting on the intensifying violence in Pakistan and Afghanistan and the U.S. response. The previous year, he was a Pulitzer finalist for his work on the C.I.A.'s detention and interrogation program. Mazzetti has reported on a wide range of pressing issues, including the U.S. military, post-9/11 D.C. politics, and political conditions in the Middle East.
