Associated with the Atomic Energy Commission beginning in 1951; special assistant to its chairman (1958-1959); assistant general manager beginning in 1959 and through the time of the interview in 1969; as representative of the AEC, served as the White House liaison under Presidents Kennedy and Johnson. Executive Director of the Federal Reconstruction Commission for Alaska (1964). Chairman of the White House Task Force on Education (1965-1966). Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (1966-1968). Former Assistant Director of the Office of Management and Budget at the Executive Office of the President (1968-1969).
