Sam D. W. Low?s father worked with Lyndon B. Johnson?s father in the Texas Legislature. Sam D. W. Low became acquainted with Johnson in 1937, when the latter ran for Congress. Discusses his work in Johnson?s campaigns from the 1940s to the 1960s. In the 1940s, he was also associated with the State Department and recounts experience associated with Chile. Discusses his involved with the Bureau of Customs (1949-1953; reappointed again after Johnson?s victory in 1960).
