Administrator of the Housing and Home Finance Agency (1961-1966) who helped write all of the President Johnson?s housing and urban renewal programs and lobbied for the President?s housing act of 1964. As Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (1966-1969), Weaver assisted the Administration in promoting the Demonstration Cities and Metropolitan Development Act of 1966 and implemented the Model Cities program created by it. Weaver also supported President Johnson?s open housing bill.
