In this speech, President Truman addresses the delegates of the Columbia Scholastic Press Association at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City. He challenges editors to perform their duty to see that the news is "the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth." The President calls on the youth of the nation to maintain America's image as the greatest Republic in the world and reminds them that Government must be operated on the basis of the greatest good for the greatest number of its citizens.
