Thursday, March 19, 1998
{7:00PM} (EST)
Event Details
Ron Nesson and his wife Johanna Newman discuss their book which addresses the portrayal of the presidency in works of fiction and the cinema. The two explain how the representation of the presidency has matured somewhat in recent years with a more cynical, yet more realistic depiction. Additionally the two authors note that the deference, with which Hollywood once dealt with the subject of the presidency, is now gone. During the questioning session they attempt to explain the causes of these cultural shifts.
