Elvin (Australian National University).  He was joined by Erica Downs (Brookings Institution) to discuss China's contemporary economic development and its environmental impact and effect on global supply. This discussion was moderated by U.Va. Politics Professor Brantly Womack and was part of a semester-long series on China's Rise in Historical Context.
