Political scientist JOHN OWEN specializes in the study of international relations. His first book, "Liberal Peace, Liberal War" (Cornell, 1997) explains why liberal democracies seldom fight wars against one another. Owen’s most recent books are "The Clash of Ideas in World Politics: Transnational Networks, States, and Regime Change 1510-2010" (Princeton, 2010) and "Religion, the Enlightenment, and the New Global Order" (co-edited with J. Judd Owen (Columbia, 2010).  A book signing will follow his Forum.
