Peter Trubowitz, Associate Professor of Government, University of Texas, Austin

Peter Trubowitz specializes in international relations and foreign policy. He received his doctorate from MIT. His publications include Defining the National Interest: Conflict and Change in American Foreign Policy (Chicago, 1998) and The Politics of Strategic Adjustment (Columbia, 1999), and various articles, chapters, and opinion pieces on world politics, foreign policy, and American politics. Most recently, Dr. Trubowitz published "Going Bipartisan: Politics by Other Means," Political Science Quarterly (Fall 2005) and "Red versus Blue: American Electoral Geography and Congressional Bipartisanship, 1898-2002," Political Geography (August 2005). He is currently writing a book on how presidents make grand strategy. His current research interests include: electoral politics and foreign policy, political leadership and grand strategy, and Sino-American relations.
