The Miller Center hosted a free roundtable event and webcast on "Race and Gender in American Politics," presented by U.Va.'s Arts & Sciences magazine. U.Va. Associate Professors of Politics Paul Freedman and Lynn Sanders will join Brian Nosek, U.Va. Associate Professor of Psychology; Vesla Weaver, U.Va. Assistant Professor of Politics and Faculty Associate in the Miller Center's Governing America in a Global Era (GAGE) program; and Nick Winter, U.Va. Assistant Professor of Politics. The discussion will be led by Wall Street Journal Atlanta Bureau Chief Douglas A. Blackmon, author of the New York Times bestseller, Slavery by Another Name: The Re-Enslavement of Black Americans from the Civil War to World War II (Doubleday, 2008).
