In his State of the Union Address, President Donald J. Trump details the achievements of his first year in office. He mentions the cost of living, prescription drugs, and energy, and he references the partial government shutdown targeting the Department of Homeland Security while outlining his administration's policy toward immigration. He also claims that "cheating is rampant in our elections," despite little evidence supporting that claim, and touches on foreign policy in areas such as Gaza, Ukraine, Iran, Mexico, and Venezuela. Throughout the speech, President Trump highlights the stories of many of his guests, such as the goalie of the USA Men's Olympic hockey team, veterans, business people, students, parents, and soldiers.
