Astri Kimball Van Dyke is an expert on the intersection of artificial intelligence and technology with public policy and politics. She has worked on public policy for more than 25 years, most recently running Google’s global competition policy team after serving as a political appointee for President Barack Obama in the White House and as deputy counsel to Vice President Joe Biden. She was senior advisor to the president & CEO for policy and operations at the Overseas Private Investment Corporation and an associate at O'Melveny and Myers LLP and at Goldman Sachs.
Van Dyke is a member of the U.S. advisory board to the French company Open Classrooms, Europe’s largest online education platform, and We the Action, which connects lawyers with non-profit organizations. She is a former term member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a former board member of the Atlantic Council, the D.C. Public Library Foundation, and AGE Africa. She was the co-founder of the Meridian Center Rising Leaders Council.
Van Dyke earned a JD at New York University School of Law and a BA at Princeton University. She is a member of the New York and Washington, D.C. bars and has published articles with Brookings, the World Economic Forum, and the Aspen Institute.
