Kenneth Thompson, the director of the Miller Center, lectures on education in Africa. He relates his experiences working with the Rockefeller Foundation to improve various African universities. Thompson concludes his lecture stressing that while the great potential of African universities lies in their rich human capitol, political instability will impede any significant improvements to the education system. During the questioning session, Thompson addresses the colonial legacy, political instability and water cleanliness in Africa.
