Walbugra Douglas, vice president of Swedish Paneuropean Union, discusses the European Union. She begins with the origins of the European Parliament after the Second World War. Douglas explains the complexities of electing representatives to the EU, establishing fair representation for the EU, the presidency of the EU, admission into the EU, budgeting in the EU, and legal matters for the EU. She concludes her lecture with her predictions about the future of the European Union and its impact on international politics. During the questioning session Douglas explores the subjects of the European Union monetary system, the admission of both Turkey and Cyprus to the EU and the future of the EU.
