First Year Project: National Summit on Race in America

The First Year Project is pleased to announce a landmark national summit to promote the forthcoming release of our volume on race. Race: The American Cauldron, featuring Eric H. Holder Jr., former Attorney General of the United States, will bring together scholars, civil rights leaders, policy practitioners, and the engaged public for a series of solutions-focused discussions about one of the most intractable issues of our time.

The event will take place at the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library & Museum in Atlanta. Douglas Blackmon, host of the Miller Center's American Forum television program and Pulitzer Prize–winning author of Slavery by Another Name, will serve as host and discussion moderator.

The public is invited to join us for a special panel, A New Dialogue on Race in America, from 3:00–4:45 PM. The panel is free, with seating on a first-come, first-served basis.
