Geir Lundestad is director of the Norwegian Nobel Institute and secretary of the Norwegian Nobel Committee. He is also adjunct professor of international history at Oslo University. He has written articles and books on the Nobel Peace Prize, including The Nobel Peace Prize: Its Historical Record and Political Significance Today, and is the author of Beyond the Cold War; No End to Alliance; and The American Empire: And Other Studies of U.S. Foreign Policy in a Comparative Perspective.
