Dr. Garson is dean of the School of Medicine and vice president of the University of Virginia. He also serves on the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality National Advisory Council. In 2001, he was appointed a member of a White House Advisory Panel on Health System Improvement. Dr. Garson works to strengthen medical education through his service to the Association of American Medical Colleges, the University Hospitals Consortium, and the Association of Academic Health Centers. This forum is co-sponsored by the Charlottesville Free Clinic.
