Jeanne M. Cummings is a White House correspondent for the Wall Street Journal. She has covered the White House for the Journal since 1989 and was a 2000 recipient of the Aldo Beckman Award for excellence in daily White House coverage. Before joining the Wall Street Journal, Ms. Cummings worked for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, where she won a National Press Club award for her coverage of former House Speaker Newt Gingrich?s rise to power and the ethics investigation that contributed to his downfall. She is a 1979 cum laude graduate of the University of Maryland with degrees in journalism and political science.
