Charles Marsh, director of the University of Virginia's Project on Lived Theology, argues that the modern civil rights movement, which began to reach full flower as a church struggle during the 1956 Montgomery bus boycott, is the greatest social expression of Christian faith in the history of the United States. Taking his title from Dr. Martin Luther King?s call to keep the movement going ("The end is reconciliation, the end is redemption, the end is the creation of the beloved community.") Marsh urges living a faith that "has the strength to dig in its heels and do the hard work building just and humane communities." A book signing will follow the Forum.
