Deborah Platt Majoras, chairman of the Federal Trade Commission, graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law, where she was an editor of the Virginia Law Review and was awarded Order of the Coif. Before accepting appointment to the FTC in 2004, Majoras practiced antitrust law with Jones Day in Washington, D.C., and in 2001 she was appointed deputy assistant attorney general in the antitrust division.
