Afternoon Session: 2:00 p.m.-3:15 p.m. Topic: Reagan and Domestic Policy Participants: Fred Fielding, Edwin Meese, James Miller Fred Fielding is a partner at the Washington, D.C., law firm of Wiley, Rein & Fielding, LLP. He recently served on the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Against the United States (9/11 Commission). From 1981 to 1986, Fielding served as counsel to the president in the Reagan administration. Edwin Meese is a distinguished fellow and holder of the Ronald Reagan Chair in Public Policy at the Heritage Foundation. He has a long history of service under Ronald Reagan, working as legal affairs secretary (1967-1968) and executive assistant and chief of staff (1969-1974) during Reagan's governorship, then as counselor to the president (1981-1985) and U.S. attorney general (1985-1988). Mr. Meese is the author of With Reagan: The Inside Story. James Miller is chairman emeritus of The Capital Analysis Group of the international law firm, Howrey, LLP. He served in several capacities during all eight years of the Reagan administration, including chairman of the Federal Trade Commission (1981-1985) and director of the Office of Management and Budget (1985-1988). He is the author, co-author, or editor of nine books, including Fix the U.S. Budget! Urgings of an Abominable No-Man.
