BEVERLY GAGE is assistant professor of 20th century U.S. history at Yale University. Her teaching and research focus on the evolution of American political ideologies and institutions.
Her first book, The Day Wall Street Exploded: A Story of America in its First Age of Terror, was published this month by Oxford University Press. The book focuses on the 1920 Wall Street explosion, an unsolved terrorist attack that killed 38 people in New York's financial district.
In addition to her teaching and research, Professor Gage has written for numerous journals and magazines, including the New York Times Magazine, TIME, Slate.com, the Chicago Tribune, and the Washington Post. Her next book will be a biography of J. Edgar Hoover.
