Margot Rogers
UVA vice president for strategic initiatives
Margot Rogers is vice president for strategic initiatives at the University of Virginia. Previously, she was senior advisor to UVA President Jim Ryan, and before that, vice chairman and senior advisor at the Parthenon Group’s Education Practice. She also served as chief of staff to the U.S. Department of Education Secretary, Arne Duncan. From 2004 to 2009, Margot served in multiple roles at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, including deputy director of education and the special assistant to the director of education, where she managed the development of the foundation’s College-Ready education strategy and staff realignment, and also served on the education division’s investment committee and strategic leadership team. Margot holds a BA from Emory University, where she was a Truman Scholar, and a JD and an MA from the University of Virginia.
