Walter W. Jenkins was Lyndon B. Johnson's office manager, personnel chief, and administrative assistant from 1939 to 1963, and special assistant to the president from 1963 to 1964, making him Johnson's longest-serving employee. In October 1964, Jenkins was arrested for disorderly conduct and implicated in a morals charge scandal that resulted in his resignation from the White House.
