Edwin L. "Eddie" Weisl Sr. was a longtime Democratic committee member for the State of New York; a prominent New York attorney; one of Lyndon Johnson’s closest friends and advisers from outside of Texas; chief counsel for the U.S. Senate Preparedness Investigating Committee from 1950 to 1953 and from 1957 to 1958; and counsel of the Committee on Space and Aeronautics from 1960 to 1961.
