Colleen Shogan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Government and Public Affairs at George Mason University. Her book in progress is entitled Presidential Moral Retoric: Leadership, Strategy, and Development. Other publications include "Rhetorical Moralism in the Plebiscitary Presidency: New Speech Forms and Their Ideological Entailments," Studies in American Political Development (Fall 2003), and "Executive Authority in America and the Analytical Shortcomings of the Modern Presidency Construct," Polity (April 2004).
