Governments at all levels have invested billions of dollars on ?homeland security? since 9/11. How much of that investment has trickled down to small cities like Charlottesville? Has it made us safer? Charlottesville police chief Timothy J. Longo began his law enforcement career with the Baltimore police department in 1984, rising from cadet to chief of staff to the police commissioner and chief of the technical services bureau. In 2001 he was selected to serve as chief in Charlottesville. He holds an undergraduate degree from Towson University and a law degree from University of Baltimore School of Law.
