David Clinton received his Ph.D. from the University of Virginia in 1985 and was also a Miller Center scholar. Since 1994 he has been an associate professor in the Department of Political Science at Tulane University. He is the author of numerous works on obligations and the international system, and he has recently published a book entitled Tocqueville, Lieber, Bagehot: Liberalism Confronts the World.
