Ruhi Ramazani is a professor emeritus of Politics at the University of Virginia. A professor at U.Va. since 1952, he has published extensively on the Middle East winnning many national awards as well as the University's most prestigious Thomas Jefferson Award. He has been consulted by the White House, the departments of State, Defense, Treasury, and the office of the United Nations Secretary General. Nesta Ramazani is a freelance writer and lecturer specializing in the role of women in Middle East societies. Her latest book, The Dance of the Rose and the Nightingale, has been widely acclaimed in the United States. In an autobiographical format she shows the interactions between Western and Iranian civilizations in her personal life experience in Iran before 1952, when she immigrated with her husband Ruhi to the United States.
