Nancy Gibbs and Michael Duffy have mined the resources of the Miller Center's Presidential Recordings Program for material in their new book on faith and the presidents. Gibbs was named a senior editor of TIME in October 1991, chief political writer in 1996, and Editor-at-Large in 2002. A Yale graduate and a former Marshall Fellow at Oxford University, she has taught political writing at Princeton, and writes frequently about issues of faith. Duffy, a graduate of Oberlin College, is assistant managing editor of TIME, overseeing 20 correspondents. He is co-author of Marching in Place: the Status Quo Presidency of George Bush (1992), and is a regular guest on PBS's Washington Week with Gwen Ifill.
